A Piece of Poetry
...
"Go thou before, and leave
me to my crucifix,
Whose pallid burden, sick with pain, watches
the world with wearied eyes,
And weeps for every soul that dies, and weeps
for every soul in vain."
This is the ending of one of my favorite poems! It's called 'The Sphinx' by Oscar Wilde. The ending of this poem always strikes me, this quiet desperation. I felt that I wanted to put it on my blog. It's worth it to read the entire poem! I read it all the time and every time it makes me think. Just thought I'd share.
P.S. - It looks like they've hired a girl to replace me! Guess who?
